[kode negara penerbit]-[kode penerbit 4 digit]-[nomor urut]-[digit akhir]

Serah simpan karya (e-deposit) mengikuti regulasi setempat

Apakah penerbit luar negeri wajib mengikuti SAKEDAP?

Apakah QRSBN menggantikan nomor identitas buku lain?

QRSBN for Publishers Around the World

Publishers outside Indonesia can use QRSBN too: a bilingual interface that adapts to the publisher's country, numbers that begin with a country code, and e-deposit that follows local regulations.

Books know no borders. A title can be written in one country, published in another, and read anywhere. That is why QRSBN is designed to be used not only by publishers in Indonesia but also by publishers from other countries.

This article covers what publishers outside Indonesia need to know: the interface language, how a QRSBN number is structured, how to register, legal deposit arrangements, and the publisher member card.

An interface in two languages

The entire QRSBN interface is available in Indonesian and English. The language is selected automatically based on the publisher's country. Publishers based outside Indonesia see the interface in English from the start.

This choice is not fixed. You can switch languages at any time using the globe icon in the QRSBN interface. The change applies to every feature, including member cards, payments, e-deposit and advertising, so you will not end up with pages that are half Indonesian and half English.

A number that shows the country of origin

Every QRSBN number is made up of several parts in the following pattern:

[publisher's country code]-[4-digit publisher code]-[sequence number]-[final digit]

The first part is the publisher's country code, which follows international telephone dialling codes. For example, publishers in Indonesia use 62, while publishers in Malaysia use 60. This is followed by a four-digit publisher code, the book's sequence number and a final digit.

With this structure, anyone looking at a QRSBN number can immediately tell which country the book was published in. International dialling codes are also familiar to many people, which makes them easy to remember.

How to register as a publisher

Registration for publishers outside Indonesia is essentially the same as for publishers in Indonesia:

  1. Choose your institution type, either private or government.
  2. Fill in your institution's details and address completely, including the country where it is based.
  3. Upload the requested documents for verification.

To speed things up, you can also register with your Google account. Once your details and documents have been checked, your institution can start applying for QRSBN numbers for its books.

Legal deposit (e-deposit) follows local regulations

Many countries have legal deposit rules, which require publishers to submit copies of their publications to the national library or another designated deposit institution. QRSBN adapts this requirement to the publisher's country:

  • Indonesian publishers follow the legal deposit provisions that apply in Indonesia, including SAKEDAP.
  • Publishers outside Indonesia are not bound by those Indonesian provisions. They follow the deposit regulations of their own country and then upload the receipt or proof of deposit from their national library or local deposit institution through the E-Deposit menu.

This keeps the e-deposit records in QRSBN complete without forcing publishers to follow another country's rules.

Publisher Member Card

Every verified publisher, including those outside Indonesia, can obtain a Publisher Member Card. The card shows your accreditation status and a verification QR Code, so others can confirm your membership. The card is issued in the system language you use.

Book data that can be verified from anywhere

Every book recorded in QRSBN has a publicly accessible data page. Readers, bookshops and libraries in any country can scan the QR Code on a book and see its official data right away. This helps your books be recognised and trusted when they circulate outside their country of origin.

For publishers selling to readers in several countries, this data page also serves as a single point of reference for everyone. Distributors, bookshops and readers all see identical data, which reduces the chance of conflicting information about a book's title, author or publisher. Make sure the book data you submit is complete and accurate from the start, because that is the data shown to the public.

Frequently asked questions

Do publishers outside Indonesia have to use the Indonesian interface?

No. Publishers outside Indonesia automatically get the English interface, and the language can be changed at any time using the globe icon.

Do publishers outside Indonesia have to follow SAKEDAP?

No. SAKEDAP and Indonesia's legal deposit provisions apply only to Indonesian publishers. Publishers elsewhere follow the deposit regulations of their own country and upload their proof of deposit to QRSBN.

Does QRSBN replace other book identification numbers?

QRSBN is a book identification system equipped with a QR Code to make verification easy. If another system or requirement applies in your country, you should continue to follow it. If anything is unclear, please ask our team.

How can people in other countries check my book?

They simply scan the QRSBN QR Code on the book. Book data pages are publicly accessible from anywhere.
